ABOUT THE ABORTION DEBATE

The decision to choose to have or not have an abortion needs to stay with the women - in the same way that GOD gives His children “free will.” GOD explains in Leviticus: If you do these things, you will be blessed. If you do those, you will be cursed. GOD gives His children the “free will” to choose. If the government were to take the place of GOD and take away a woman's ability to choose, this would also mean that the government could say that civilians cannot own a gun or could extremely restrict the rights of anyone to be able to own a gun. Guns can kill. Since a gun can take somebody's life and the will to use or not use a gun or the will to fire or not fire a gun (that could cause death) remain the decision of the owner - should the government ban all guns? Government trusts that a person is going to exercise great caution with their right to own and use a gun and will only take a life - if their life is threatened. The Democratic Party is saying that they trust women to make the right decision about aborting the life of their unborn child. What we need concerning the abortion issue is not for the government to take the place of GOD - rather, for the government to make it easier for a woman to choose to have her baby instead of choosing to abort. Government can reduce the number of abortions by: providing prenatal and postnatal healthcare, providing emergency shelter and emergency rental assistance to pregnant women that may be in danger of being evicted or are already homeless - by providing financial assistance to prepare for the newborn (to pay for a crib, a car seat, clothing, diapers, transportation, ect). There are numerous factors that may cause a pregnant woman to consider aborting her baby: among them are health issues. In my life, I did make the terrible decision of having an abortion. And it had nothing to do with convenience. It had to do with fear for safety, finance, and poverty. After I received the LORD JESUS Christ as my Savior, I wept bitterly at an evangelistic crusade: where young men and young women were coming up and sharing how they were almost aborted. That abortion had left a hole in my soul. At the crusade, that's where I found healing. I knew then that the LORD could use my bad experience to do some good. I don't judge people. We're not walking in other people's shoes. As Christians, we can only hope to be there and help bring relief to someone going through a critical life event. After all, that's what GOD calls us to do: love one another. The other way that government can help women decide to have her baby is: by providing free or low-cost child care, providing free school lunches, approving the Child Tax Credit, providing quality and public education, funding the McKinney-Vento Act to include emergency hotel/motel vouchers, emergency rental assistance, and Emergency Housing Vouchers for parents of school aged children who are at risk of eviction or are experiencing homelessness. If we say we want women to have her baby instead of aborting her baby, then there has to be tangible financial support for women who choose to have and raise her baby. What are your thoughts on what I have just shared with you?
